From its one of a kind exterior, visitor would not have guessed that beyond this blooming entrance, there exists a fusion of gallery, workshop, garden and living space which extend over 230 feet deep. A bold attempt by our artist to combine all these features into one, considering this would not have worked in any usual building.

Once you step into the gallery, noise from the street will be left behind. Front exhibition hall welcomes you with some abstract paintings. Along the corridor leading towards the middle exhibition hall, you can have a closer look at a couple of smaller paintings. The middle exhibition hall is illuminated by daylight showers from an air well filled with plants. An eyeful of greeneries indoor, every plant here is taken care of by the artist himself. This is a manifestation of artist’s philosophy in art or ultimately in life. Around the air well garden, is where paintings and fine art prints by the artist are displayed.

Far East Art Gallery or also known as Red Earth Collection is a shop that mainly sells antiques, art decorative pieces and drawings. The reason that Ms. Sim (owner) opens this shop is that she herself loves antique collections and hopes to share the same interest to people who come to her shop.

One special thing about Far East Gallery is that, most of its drawings are own designer art pieces, which is draw by Annie Foong. Her drawings are the only one in town and she achieves the ground for the special technique of integrating paint, which gradually formed her distinctive personal style of painting. Annie Foong successfully merged the merits of western art, the combination of light and colour, in her colour of paintings in perfect harmony, and it has impress people considerably.

Currently, Far East Art Gallery offer 20% – 30% on selected items such as Annie Foong’s oil paintings, and it includes new arrival and selections too.

Pang Heng Khan says that his core business of the shop is his art gallery which some of it consist of his own paintings. The shop do acrylic work, oil painting and some limited print. Born in Malacca in year 1930s, Mr. Jehan Chan the owner of the gallery was educated at the Nanyang Academic of Fine Arts, Singapore in year 1960. Mr. Jehan Chan was already recognized as an accomplished painter, it was his enduring spirit that propelled him to develop an artistic discipline that would be purely Malaysian. With 30 years experience involved in this field, his works can be found in this gallery. He is a fulltime famous artist has his own studio on the upstairs of gallery. For Mr. Jehan Chan, the longer time making his art painting, the more valuable it is. His art painting can be selling at a price range of RM1000 and above. At the moment his famous creation was titled “Corps”. Besides, the gallery also sells other artist’s painting that associate with him. Looking for something artistic in Jonker Street night market? If yes, please visit the stall owned by Mr. Tang Yee Chuan. Mr. Tang was a student from KLCA (Kuala Lumpur College of Art) and he started his business since the establishment of Jonker Street.

According to Mr. Tang, the well known artistry of Chuan Art is definitely his own painting. Customer can order and customize the painting according to own preferences. The unique bookmark, masterpiece, clip, painting and other astistry that are available in Chuan Art are suitable for souvenir as well as collection.

The masterpiece of Mr. Tang are in gold colors and they are available in various shape as well as different chinese wording, such as love, harmony, good luck, joyful and so on. As for the making of a masterpiece, firstly, the design is carved onto a peice of wood block to make a master mold. Then, the “Papier Mache” which is a light yet strong moulding material made from waste paper, pulp and glue is carefully pored and pressed onto the mould the cast the masterwork. After that, the piece is laid out to dry for 6 days after which the artist will put in his final touches in color.
