Yan Keng Antique Furniture

Located at Heeren Street, Yan Keng Antique Furniture shop often goes unnoticeable to the world. If not because of the interview, we’ve never noticed such a shop. It is an old shop which conduct business which has been passed down generation to generation. The shop sells antiques furniture and decorative pieces. They also provide wood carving and also repair antiques. The owner has learnt his skill in wood carving from his uncle and thus continue the family business till then. He said that most of his customers are old acquaintances, sometimes even the royal families will order things from him. There are less walk in customers or tourist who came to his shop.

Other than the on going business, what is more attracting is the architecture of the house. It is built a few decades ago and the mixture of the early European and local style of building definitely leave some space of imagination and reminiscence.
